Women wrestlers have accused WFI chief and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Saran Singh of sexually harassing them. To this extent, agitation was started in the national capital Delhi last April 23. But Singh is not coming down. He made it clear that he was the king and had done no wrong. He announced that he will not step down from the post if anyone else says that he will resign if Prime Minister Modi asks him to do so.
Meanwhile, Samyukta Kisan Morcha has announced support for women wrestlers. They have warned that they will take up the agitation before the Parliament which starts next week. Apart from that, Brij Bhushan demanded a narco test on Sharan Singh. Singh responded to this. He was ready to undergo a narco test but imposed a condition. That is, along with him, female wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia, who are making serious allegations against him, have also insisted on appearing for the Narco test. His comments are causing a stir.
Maha Panchayats in Haryana are taken up by farmers. To this extent, a resolution was passed asking Singh to take action. He warned that if he is not removed, he will have to face dire consequences. Modi government has already come down to farmers’ concerns. It is remarkable that those farmers are now supporting the wrestlers’ concerns.
