The central government is trying to implement its nationalistic agenda. Until yesterday, the Delhi University panel committee had recommended the abolition of the Ambedkar course. This has become highly controversial. At this point, another controversy came to the fore. The most popular national anthem of India is Sare Jahan Se Accha. It was written by Muhammad Allama Iqbal, who was born in Seoul Kot, India. Born in 1877, this song by him became popular along with Rabindra Nath Tagore’s Jana Gana Mana Adhinayaka Jayahe.
He went to Pakistan after the partition of India. Iqbal was recognized as a national poet there. The Academic Council of Delhi University passed a resolution to remove the chapter on him from the Political Science syllabus. This matter was confirmed by the body members.
Chapter Modern Indian Political Thought is part of BA’s 6th-semester paper. He said that this matter will now be submitted before the Executive Council of the University. BJP along with its affiliates RSS and ABBP welcomed this development. The resolution came to our attention. A member of the academic council said that the chapter on Iqbal was removed from the syllabus.
