Kerala High Court : Don’t Associate Nudity with Sex

Kerala High Court Verdict

Hello Telugu - High Court of Kerala

Nudity is different from sex. The Kerala High Court has ruled that linking one with the other is not a good practice. The case registered against the woman was canceled. Meanwhile, women’s rights activist Rehana Fatima Pocso is facing charges under various provisions of the Juvenile Justice Act and the Information Technology (IT) Act.

The court clarified that Rehana Fatima had only allowed her children to use her body as a canvas for painting. It states that the right to self-representation over one’s body is often denied to the fair sex. Not only that, it made it clear that they are facing threats, discrimination, and harassment for making choices about their bodies and lives. The verdict is that Rehana Fatima is released from this case.

Fatima is facing charges under various rules of FOXO, Juvenile Justice, and IT Acts for airing a video in which she allowed her minor children to pose semi-nude and paint them.

While releasing her from the case, Justice Kauser Edappagath made key remarks. The allegations leveled against the 33-year-old activist claimed that no one suspected that she had used her children for any real or simulated sexual acts, that too for sexual gratification.
