PM Modi Flags : Vande Bharat Train in North Eastern state

Inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the North Eastern state’s first Vande Bharat Express on Monday. On this occasion, Modi made it clear that tourism, education, trade, and employment opportunities will increase in this region. The green flag was waved to the train from Guwahati station.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, Assam Governor Chand Kataria, and CM Himant Biswa Sharma were present. The semi-high-speed train between Guwahati and New Jalpaiguri will further strengthen the connectivity between Assam and West Bengal.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that in the last nine years, North Eastern regions have developed infrastructure along with all the states that have been connected with the railway network.

He made it clear that basic facilities will be made available to all without any discrimination to reflect true social justice and secularism. He said that the state-of-the-art train will boost tourism in the region and enable people to travel with speed and comfort. Guwahati – New Jalpaiguri Vande Bharat Express train covers in just 5 hours 30 minutes.
