Mixed reviews for Prabhas’s Adipurush

Rs 200 crore mark within two days

Adipurush : Filmmaker Om Raut’s latest release, “Adipurush,” has received mixed-to-negative reviews from critics. However, the film’s box office performance has been impressive, surpassing the Rs 200 crore mark within just two days of its release. Raut expressed his pride in these results and addressed the criticisms about the changes made to the story of the Ramayana in the film. He acknowledged that the epic is vast and Adipurush showcases only a small portion of it.

In an interview with Republic, Om Raut highlights the Audience’s Enthusiastic Response to ‘Adipurush‘ Amidst Negative Reviews. This positive response has made him incredibly happy and proud. He emphasized the importance of the film’s box office response, stating that they are achieving unprecedented numbers globally on the first day.

Raut also admitted that claiming to fully understand the Ramayana would be a mistake. He humbly acknowledged that nobody has the capacity to comprehend the entirety of the epic. He described his portrayal of the Ramayana as a squirrel’s contribution, representing the little bit that he has understood and attempted to depict on celluloid. The director clarified that while the Ramayana he grew up watching on television told a larger story, Adipurush focuses specifically on the Yuddha Kanda, one section of the epic. He emphasized the vastness of the Ramayana, stating that it is impossible for anyone to fully grasp it.

Actor Arun Govil Expresses Displeasure with ‘Adipurush’ and Discusses his Concerns as Lord Rama Portrayal and revealed that he has not watched the film yet. Govil had previously shared his opinions and inputs with the makers of Adipurush after the release of the first teaser.

Although Adipurush has achieved significant box office success, its massive Rs 600 crore budget means there is still a long way to go for the film to break even.
