Birsa Munda was the tribal warrior who defeated the British. Dhirodattha fought to be remembered for ten ages even though he lived only for a short time. He resisted the British policies of that time. He gathered the Adivasis. He made them conscious. Formed a group. He became the idol of the wild children.

Birsa Munda demanded that laws be introduced to protect the land rights of the tribals. He lived on this earth for only 25 years. But Birsa will survive as long as time lasts. He was recognized as a tribal leader and a freedom fighter. Birsa Munda made his mark.

Born on November 15, 1875, Birsa Munda left this world on June 9, 1900. He accepted Christianity. From 1886 to 1890 he fought against the missionary and the British government. Birsa Munda turned the tribesmen into soldiers on his own. On March 3, 1900, British soldiers ambushed and arrested Jam Kopai while he was sleeping in the forest. Birsa Munda breathed his last in jail on 9.
