Tamil Nadu : No.1 in wind power generation

Number one rank in the world

Hello Telugu - Tamil Nadu

The Tamil Nadu state government has achieved a rare feat. It has become number one in the world in wind power generation. This has been revealed by the World Economic Forum (WEF) as the wind continues to lead the way in generating electricity. It is remarkable that Tamilnadu stands at the top of Sweden and Denmark, which are considered green electrical champions. It has a combined wind power of 7.0 GW. This surpasses Sweden’s 6.7 GW.

On the other hand, the central government has focused more on wind power. The Ministry of Renewable Energy has been a part of the Global Windy Day celebrations since June 15. In-depth discussions were held on wind energy progress, offshore wind development, strengthening the wind power generation environment, and green finance for wind power.

As part of this, the central government has set a target of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2023. The government is trying to get the cooperation of all states with air. In the financial year 2022-23, the states of Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Rajasthan are standing at the top respectively in wind power.
